There is no warrant of arrest against me – Assemblies of God GS

Paul Emeka
The General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, Rev. Prof. Paul Emeka, Monday, expressed shock over a radio news commentary claiming that he had been declared wanted by the police.

The church leader, who addressed journalists in Enugu said such propaganda was the height of gimmick by those opposed to his headship of the Church.
While describing it as a fallout of the protracted crisis rocking the Church, Emeka said he was aware of a suit instituted against him at the Upper Area Court, Abuja, by a faction of the church led by Rev. Dr Chidi Okoroafor, it was shocking that “the Radio Nigeria allowed itself to be used by such persons.”
“The case is based on allegations that I forged professorial certificate but I’m not bordered about that; what annoyed me is the role that Radio Nigeria played on the matter.
“On 25th of May, when the matter came up, reporters from the Radio Nigeria granted interview to the Chidi group; one of our members went and told them that they should come to us to balance the information; they refused.
“Unfortunately on the 26th, they aired it; telling the world that one Paul Emeka is wanted over claims he made that he got Professorship from Deb Shire University, that he has been receiving salaries with the fake certificate; they put it in commentaries, not just news.
“I want to say that I was not meant to appear in court; I have counsels that represent me; I want to say that the matter is only only at the level of preliminary objection; the court was to rule whether it was competent to hear it or not.

“I’m surprised that those reporters with the Radio Nigeria could descend so low, a radio that is so much respected and renowned internationally, the Nigeria’s official voice. What happened was very deliberate, it is below the reputation of Radio Nigeria.”
He stressed that “I’m not on the wanted list of the police; on the eve of the matter, that is on the 24th of May, they said 15 policemen arrested and took me to Abuja; you can see the contradictions; if I were arrested, how come I wasn’t produced in court again, but was declared wanted.
“Besides, that ruling, which will now come up on the 27th of June is not to find out whether I forged certificate or not, it’s about the jurisdiction of the court; these same people have arraigned me several times, even on facebook.
“They have accused me of a lot in the past, they failed; they now came with certificate, it will fail too and who knows what they will bring next; all these are to frustrate me into resigning.
“I have never breached the Church’s constitution; they
