Renowned Iraqi-British architect, Dame Zaha Mohammad Hadid has passed on aged 65.
She contracted bronchitis earlier this week and died of a sudden heart attack in the early morning {Thursday, March 31, 2016} during treatment at a Miami hospital,Zaha Hadid Architects, an international architecture and design firm she established in London in the late 1970s reportedly confirms in a statement.
Hadid was born on 31 October 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq.
She won the Riba Stirling Prize at UK’s most respected architecture award in 2010 for the Maxxi Museum in Rome and 2011 for the Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, London.
Her remarkable works include the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome in London and the Moon System Sofa for popular Italian furniture manufacturer B&B Italia, which she designed in 2007.
Last year, she became the first woman to receive the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) Gold Medal.
