Since former Nigeria’s President, Olusegun Obasanjo, publicly announced he was no longer a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and thereafter tearing his membership form into pieces, he has continued to be lashed out at by various Nigerians.
One of those who have slammed Obasanjo is son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Seun, who said the former Nigerian leader cannot erase history.
In his words on Instagram, "the spot where justice was murdered. Can Obasanjo tear this from the pages of history? Tomorrow marks the 38th anniversary of the burning of KALAKUTA and the murder of Olufunmilayo Anikulapo-Kuti. Bringing my family down to its knees and never recovered financially but we are gifted and always have found pleasure in those things money can't buy.
“What most people don't know is that Fela used to go around his friends’ houses to ask for money to just survive in the aftermath of this barbaric act. We shall get justice one day and not for the millions of naira looted (Fela had 2 million naira in cash looted on that day, 1977 value. Do the Maths) the 36 cars burnt and the millions destroyed in property but for the death of Africa's most illustrious feminist advocate, foremost female politician. Confidant of chairman Mao and Kwame Nkrumah. The first black woman to visit China. Oh she will get justice. Know your heroes.
“You tore down the Kalakuta republic who gives a f*ck about your f*cking PDP card. Have u taken responsibility for your actions? This is your democracy Obasanjo. U set the precedence and now blame people who followed your footsteps!!
“Just the way you blamed the unknown soldiers who followed your orders. Grow a spine and take responsibility. Agbe oshi meaning (Useless farmer)."
Not satisfied yet, Seun went further to write on his Instagram page, "We rise from the ashes always. Fresher newer stronger. The KUTI family is a Phoenix, ya heard. What Obasanjo won't tell you is that the woman he killed once employed his father in her farm and gave livelihood to his family. Now e dey tear ID card as if."
