Video: President does not need to ask for Magu’s confirmation from the senate – Falana By Nwafor Sunday SAN, Femi Falan, a human right activist and meddlesome interloper, has said via an interview from the channels Tv that the president of the federal republic of Nigeria does not need to seek from the senate the confirmation of the acting chairman of Economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, Mr Ibrahim Magu, laying his claims on the foundation of section 171 of Nigeria’s constitution. There is no provision for senates confirmation of Magu according to this section but section 171 sub section 2 made provision for the confirmation of ambassadorials and other stated agencies by the senate, he opined. The executives simply played into the hands of the senate and because of that they will never approve the nomination of  Magu, owing that fifty members or less are standing trial or under investigation for serious fraud cases and corrupt practices, he equally said. Recall that some senators since their face-up with the executives have spoken against the overriding functions of the executives and her neglect to constitutional functions. Sen. Dino Melaye said while addressing his colleagues on the matter said, “M.A.G.U came for a job interview and failed and as a result he was rejected by the senate of the federal republic of Nigeria. He prayed that their duties as senators of the federal republic of Nigeria will not be eroded especially on their time.
