TRADERS in Odun-Ade Coker recently benefited from a free health seminar and screening tagged, “Avoiding Sudden Death,”organised by Mazi Justin Okpani, Secretary, Coker Building Materials & Allied Products Dealers Association in Lagos.
Opkani said traders needed to be educated about the risks of stress, physical exertion, and reliance on quacks as well as avoiding silent killer diseases like diabetes, High Blood Pressure and cancer.
He observed that series of cases of sudden death had been recorded in the market hence the need for the free medical screening and seminar.
He urged the state government to put up more facilities in the market.
“This is the biggest plumbing market in West Africa with a cordial relationship with the government.”
However, infrastructures here remain a major challenge as our road networks and waterways are bad, among other issues. This is why we need government partnership more.”
