Amos 4:12 says, “Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel”
Whenever it falls on us to receive any visitor in our homes or offices, one thing that will be paramount in our mind and schedule is to prepare ourselves for the visitation. We all know that the level of our preparation is always according to the respect we have for the expected visitor. There are classes of visitors which range from kings and chairmen to Governors, mayors, traditional rulers and Presidents. In all these classes of people, the measure of preparation for each is determined by the respect we have for the visitor, our expectation and passion we have for the expected guest.
If for instance a president is scheduled to pay somebody who is in need of food a visit, it is expected that the host will be better off after the visit than he is before the visit. This is because it will be very unethical for a President to pay a visit to a needy without meeting him at the point of his need. The only essence of the visit of the President or superiors is to give succour to the less privileged host. And because he is expected to give succour to his host, the degree of preparation for his visit will be done magnificently than any other.
When this splendid preparation described above is meant for an immortal man, what then will be our preparation when the visitor is no other person than the King of Kings? It is a thing of joy to state that comes this weekend; God is coming in His Majesty to address the need of His people in the Special program titled, ‘God will make you to rejoice’. This divine visitation will definitely bring succor to as many as are prepared for the visit and actually participated in the program. I am very sure God will make them to rejoice. But before we get to know the type of preparation that should be made for our God, it is very important we have the knowledge of His nature to enable us meet Him and have Him bless us.
1PT 1: 15-16 says, “1Pe 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy”
We should remember that God is not a man. While men have sinful nature, God has a holy nature. He is pure and holy and thus no unholy person can be allowed to be in His presence. We are the followers of the holy Jesus, and therefore must be, according to our capacity, consecrated to God’s honour, and conformed to His nature and will. So, for us to be among those He is coming to address their problems and bring succor to their needs comes this special program this weekend, we must prepare to be holy. If you wish to be blessed by the Holy God you must endeavour to be holy. If you desire to be delivered on the day of His visitation, you must endeavour to clean yourself from all pollution both of the heart and body. If your case is disappointment and lack of promotion, and you want to experience favour, you must prepare to be holy in order to be allowed in His presence. If you are a pertinacious sinner and you are looking for mercy, He is coming toward us in mercy but you must be holy to meet Him. If you are barren, and you wish to be fruitful, you must be holy. He has given us promises to encourage us to prepare, we must therefore prepare to meet Him. The will of God in the Old as well as the New Testament Church was not locked up in the repositories of an unknown tongue, but communicated plainly and openly to the people. He said, ‘Ye shall be holy, for I am holy’. There is no ambiguity in God’s requirement. The people of God must be separated from the world, for they are required to be holy, for His character, His laws, and services are holy.
OUR REQUIRED PREPARATION AND EXAMPLE OF OLD
Everybody must be in attention to receive God’s blessing comes this program From Sorrow to Joy. There is no doubt that after that day our lives shall never be the same again. The dumb shall speak; lame shall walk, blind shall see and the afflicted delivered. If we could honour human beings, the honour we have for God should be higher. If we believe that God is higher than the President, we must therefore prepare to honour Him in a special way. We must not come alone as that will amount to greediness. We must all go out to invite people that are deaf, insane, blind, afflicted etc. When we invite them with faith and believe that God will heal them, am assuring you my God will give answer to their problems.
It is no longer in doubt what our God can do. This is because testimonies are everywhere to attest to what He can do.
Mt 9:32 -33 says, “As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel”
Mark 2: 1- 5 says, “And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. 2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee”
In the Scriptures above, it was very clear that wherever our Lord Jesus Christ went during His earthly sojourn, He was always greeted with multitude of afflicted people and He healed them. Those that have knowledge of His visitation went about inviting people to come and the people they invited did not regret honouring the invitation. Likewise, you are expected to go about inviting people for this crusade as a matter of preparation. And in so doing God will see your good work and bless you.
Rev. 22: 12- 13, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last”
Christ is talking to you, He says He is coming to establish comfort and support for His followers. So take advantage of this visitation and get yourself prepared for He will make you to rejoice in Jesus name.
