OLEH—COALITION of Amnesty Programmes, Phase 2 and 3 leaders and members has commended the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig- General Paul Boroh (retd) for sustaining various empowerment programmes for the benefit of youths in the Niger Delta region.
It however, appealed to him to resume the payment of ex- agitators’ monthly stipends that were stopped since last year and also clear backlog of training allowance owed some members.
Making the commendation the National Chairmen of the phases 2 and 3 of the programme, self styled Generals Sylvester Tambo and Julius Joseph respectively, listed the empowerment programmes to include educational/training, community pipeline surveillance, modular refinery projects and agricultural loans.
Expressing satisfaction with Boro’ prudent management of the amnesty programme, they lauded the Federal Government for its continuous support for the Amnesty Office.
They warned youths of the region against pipeline vandalism and other acts capable of truncating the prevailing peace in the region.
