Celebrate me while I’m alive not in death – Obuh tells football authorities

Former national Under-17 and Under-20 teams Coach, John Obuh, has advised the NFF and other football authorities in the Country to celebrate Coaches and care for their welfare in their life and not after they are dead.

Obuh, who is currently the head coach of Nigeria National League side, Kwara United, spoke with footballlive.ng on the neglect of coaches and former athletes whose death draw sympathy but were not given much recognition in their life time.
The news of the sudden death of former Super Eagles coaches, Stephen Keshi and Shauibu Amodu have left the Nigeria football community in mourning state since last week.
The deaths came three days apart. Beside tributes being paid the icons, commitments have been made by the NFF as well as the Federal Government to immortalize them.
But Obuh believes it is better they are celebrated while alive than when they leave the ‘scene’ and cannot tell their own story.
