Boko Haram attack during funeral, killed 18 women and set houses ablaze

Borno Government sets dateline for reconstruction of communities destroyed by Boko Haram
18 women have been reportedly shot dead by the Boko Haram sect at a funeral in Kuda village of Adamawa State, north-east Nigeria.

The Islamic extremists were said to be rampaging through the village, setting houses on fire and shooting at random, witnesses and local government officials said on Friday.
The attack occurred at about 5 p.m. on Thursday in the village of Kuda in Adamawa State.
A resident of the village, who gave his name as Moses Kwagh told Reuters that people waited until three hours after the attack and had then counted 18 women’s bodies.
He said some women were still missing.
A police source confirmed the attack but said it was not yet clear how many people had been killed.
State lawmaker, Emmanuel Tsamdu said, “I am yet to get the details on how it happened and the real number of people killed. I have sent hunters to go to the area and get me the details because people are afraid to go to the village.”
The village which is said to very close to the Sambisa Forest, was attacked by Boko Haram militants in February.
Though most villages in the north east have been recaptured by the Nigerian troop, Boko Haram still regularly stages guerrilla attacks.
Kwagh said, “When we said that Boko Haram is still in this place some people sit in Abuja and claim that there is no more Boko Haram, but see what has happen.”
