Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Thursday laid ambush and killed six soldiers who were on patrol in Karimlamido local government area of Taraba State.
The state’s acting governor, Abubakar Sani Danladi, is from Karimlamido local government area of the state.
The killings took place between Amar and Kambari settlements, which share boundary with Plateau State.
Sources said the victims, nine in number were deployed to maintain law and order in the area before they were attacked by the herdsmen.
The bodies of the slain soldiers were recovered and taken to a morgue in Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.
