A crowd of about 1,700 people - many of them Silicon Valley executives and tech entrepreneurs - gathered at Stanford University in California on Tuesday afternoon to pay their respects to Dave Goldberg, the SurveyMonkey CEO who died in a tragic accident at the weekend while on vacation in Mexico. The emotional service paid tribute to a man described as an honest, down-to-earth luminary and caring father of two children, and his wife, Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg (together-right), invoked tears when she stepped to the lectern to remember her husband. 'Today we will put the love of my life to rest, but only his body,' Sandberg told the auditorium. 'His spirit and soul are still with us.' Among the attendees were LinkedIn Ceo Jeff Weiner (pictured inset) and Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman.
